Catou

"Calle Del Colegio"
Oil on canvas- 40 X 50
Since her childhood, Catou has always been fascinated by vast expanses, like that of the Argentine Pampas, with their immense and changing skies. She first wanted to capture the very essence of their atmosphere: the different shades of green of the plain, the sudden storms, the contrasts of the planes with varied shades of yellow. The Rio de la Plata, with its waters sometimes silvery, sometimes pink, particularly attracted her and fed her imagination. She also found it in Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay, where Catou painted many canvases whose characters are only the alleys and colonial houses. Then, she liked to take the landscapes in the form of miniatures, as in the case of Paris and now the Loire.
